Recovering an unpaid table balance
Resolve shift blockers without duplicating orders or payments.
An older table order can be marked completed but still have an unpaid balance. Preparation completion is not proof of payment.
Recover safely
- Open the overdue-shift or close-register review and inspect its unpaid-order blockers.
- Open the available table-payment recovery action for the listed table order.
- Check order number, items, recorded payments and remaining amount against the physical cash/card and fiscal records.
- Record only the amount actually received using cash or card. Partial/mixed settlement is available; never exceed the remaining balance.
- Reopen the shift review and confirm the blocker is resolved.
- Count and reconcile the old drawer before starting new service.
Recovery does not authorize new table rounds on an overdue shift. Payments are attributed to the collecting shift/register.
Failed or uncertain prints still need separate review. A manager-approved forced close records an exception; it does not erase a debt or prove a physical print.
